Tell Trump: The Boulder Attack was Antisemitism

June 3, 2025

It has been two days since the unconscionable antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, that left 12 people injured, one critically. Our community is still reeling from this violent antisemitic attack.

As I told the New York Times“What we’ve seen these last few months is a shocking pattern of anti-Israel sentiment manifesting itself in antisemitic violence. With each incident, there’s a further shattering of our sense of security.”

Yesterday, JDCA called on leaders across the political spectrum to condemn this antisemitic violence. While some, like House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, swiftly declared that “antisemitism has no place in our nation or anywhere throughout the world,” Donald Trump’s response did not mention antisemitism, Jewish Americans, or the Jewish community.

TELL TRUMP: PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY

Instead, Trump focused on the aspects of the Boulder attack that fit his political agenda – the fact that the perpetrator had overstayed his visa, for which he blamed former President Biden. This is a wholly insufficient response, which underscores Donald Trump’s lack of leadership in this critical moment. If the president can’t clearly identify the attack as antisemitism, how can we expect others to do so?

Sign our petition telling Donald Trump to protect Jewish Americans from antisemitic violence now. The petition calls on him to:

  1. Call attacks against Jewish Americans what they are: Antisemitic violence.
  2. Fully fund Nonprofit Security Grants – to secure our synagogues and Jewish institutions – and efforts to combat hate crimes.
  3. Force those officials with antisemitic records out of his administration.
  4. Stop using antisemitism as a pretext for deportations without due process, defunding of universities, and attacks on our democracy.

PETITION: PROTECT JEWISH AMERICANS FROM ANTISEMITIC VIOLENCE

Join us in calling on Donald Trump to protect Jewish Americans today. Together, we must take action to defend against antisemitism in all its forms. We continue to pray for refuah shlema, the quick and complete recovery for all of those injured in Sunday’s attack, and we thank you for your partnership.

In solidarity,
